In His Own Words

This is a video clip from an illustrated sermon that I wrote when I was Youth Pastor of Greater Grace Temple a few years ago entitled; "War of the Worlds. For those unfamiliar with what an illustrated sermon is, it is sermon and a drama mixed together. The concept behind this sermon was to illustrate the spiritual battle that Paul talks about in Ephesians the 6th chapter. He declares, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places." So, we had angels and demons battling against one another in an all fight for the lives of the youth of this generation. In addition to this illustrated battle, the idea of the sermon was centered a talk show hosted by the devil himself called "Lucifer Presents." The illustrated sermon was suppose to open with an introduction from myself, but we were inadvertently kidnapped and held hostage by Satan and his demons. Here's a clip of the sermon opening:

As you can see "Yours Truly" was kidnapped and the devil assumed the responsibilities of host for the evening's service. During his show "Lucifer Presents" the devil showcased several of his prized demons that are doing the best job of promoting the devil's agenda in the world. But, before he brought his guest out he showed a video that would basically summarize his plight in our world. This clip is at the beginning of this article. And, in this video the devil spells out very plainly what his agenda is all about. Lies, deception, hatred, envy, & evil are the primary weapons in his arsenal that he uses to influence society. What got me to thinking about this video was this week's video of the week that is posted on our website (www.michaelnimmons.com). It is a music video that is taken from the perspective of the devil, in fact it is in the devil's own words that we discover his plan and plot for mankind. The song is called "In the words of (Satan)" which is the similar concept we used in the video for our sermon.  I believe its one thing for us to read about what the devil is planning and plotting in the Word of God but it is an entirely different thing to hear it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Jesus tells his disciples in St. John 10:10, "The thief cometh not but for to steal kill and to destroy, but I come that ye might have life and that ye might have it more abundantly." So, yes we have heard it before what evil the devil is perpetrating in the hearts of men, But, to hear it straight from the devil himself is an opportunity one just cannot pass up.

We see in this "Me Time" video how he has deceived so many into thinking that he doesn't exist. Actually, he's fine with that being the case, because he's primary goal is to convince the world that God doesn't exist either, which is a campaign that is steadily gaining momentum. The rationale behind it is if I can get people to believe that God doesn't exist, then they'll never believe that I exist either. I'm sure you've heard it said before, "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he doesn't exist." The devil's fine with people not believing in him just as long as they don't believe in God either. What is achieved is a god-less, law-less, moral-less society that devil-himself is presiding over. In this video he talks about his influences over Hip Hop, The Homosexual Movement, Atheism, and the media just to name a few. And, how he has got our undivided attention as we are live vicariously through the god-less celebrities and personalities he chooses to use in his plan for evil.

For me hearing this in his own words helps me to put my Christian walk in perspective. Hearing and even seeing what the devil is doing and wants to do to us and against us should help us better prepare ourselves for the fight that the devil has initiated. But, I'm here with good news it is a fight; it is a battle and a war that we have already won. Paul lets us know in Romans 8:31, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" This is one of the greatest rhetorical questions that can ever be asked, inasmuch as if God is on our side that there is nothing the devil can do to stop us or to hinder us. So, if nothing else we should be encouraged today to know that despite what the devil is planning; despite what the devil is doing in our lives, we are already victorious. We are already winners, because we are on the Lord side. So, if you're on the Lord side, you can do like David said in Psalm 24 and lift up your heads on ye gates and be ye lifted up ye ever lasting doors and the King of Glory Shall come. Who is the King of Glory, the Lord of host he is the King of Glory."

As we always do in our final thoughts, we would like to know how does knowing what the devil's agenda is in our world affect the way you are living your life? Are you bothered by this at all, what troubles you about what he's doing in our society? Does knowing this cause you to want to make some changes in your life? Are you in search of answers to any of these questions, if so feel free send us an e-mail at pastor@michaelnimmons.com and we'd be more than happy to share God's Word further with you!

Here's a one of the final clips of the illustrated sermon; "War of the Worlds" Be Blessed!
